Intro was nice but oh man that bass really clashes hard after. The riff works well with it, but it just sounds out of place with everything else. I like the lazer sounds and background in the middle, but the lack of melody with them makes them seem lonely. Ah, now that synth plays well with the bass at the end there. In fact this seems like a huge jumble of just messing around, but in a really good experimental way. Kind of like an early version of Aphex Twin. It feels like Aphex Twin when they were kids. Having fun and just trying anything for the hell of it. +1 did not download.

Thanks for listening, i wrote this piece about 6 years ago, and listening to it now is a very interesting experience, i definitely agree with your comments on the song. At the time it was definitely just messing around with sounds, and i was having a lot of fun doing it (and i still am!) Hopefully now with my later songs you can hear some improvement, haha. Thanks again for the insightful comments!

My friend, this is trance. Not dance, but pretty darn good trance. I like how it plays more like a classical piece but has that dark mystery of electronica. I feel some of the synths in the middle were kind of thrown in haphazardly, and the melody could have had a transition into a new dynamic to show a change of mood or growth. The transitions you used did, however, move the piece along nicely anyway. Just seems like a final form was missing. The countermelody at the end almost did it for me, but fell just a little short. Perhaps it was too short lived. Anyway, downloaded +1 you're 2 for 2.

I am horrible when it comes to classifying music... i need to work on that. There are definitely parts that should have been cleaned up a little in the middle, im glad you liked it overall, and i hope you enjoy all the other songs i have out there! thanks for listening and also for the thoughtful and helpful comments!

I definitely think the melodic synth could use some tweaking. Also you had a great idea, what you needed to do was add some more to the original song. Another verse, bar, hell even a transition into the same/different thing. Downloaded +1. First song of yours I've heard, starting to listen to others now.

Kassich responds:

you're right, the main synth was basically a preset that i put very little work into, i just wanted to get the idea out as fast as possible, thats also why it didn't really have much else in terms of another verse or anything. I'll try to focus on getting more complete ideas out there. Thanks for commenting and listening!

I don't know whether I want to play mega man or dance to this. I love the melody, and the beat is very nice. Great (if short and unexpected) ending. It feels like a mix between walking through Boo's haunted mansion, dancing at a club, and shooting lasers at any and everyone. Very good short song.

wandschrank responds:

Thanks for this very interesting description of your feelings while listening. ;D Shooting lasers was something I also had in mind while composing.

Yep, it's kinda short, but I did that on purpose. After my 5 minute long "The Golden Toilet" track, I was in the mood for something straightforward. ;D

Thanks for your review!

I like this song, but I don't feel like it's dubstep. At all. It feels like dark trance. Not psytrance, just super dark trance. And that section in the middle was an eery relief from the dark and played really well. It feels like wandering around a rave at night after everyone's gone home and zombies could come out at any second. Then for a bit in the middle the lights and disco balls come on and everyone's dancing. But the the power cuts out and you know they're about to eat your brains. I think possibly Human Bacon might've been an appropriate name. Still, nice song.

Other than the fact that the description makes you sound like you're twelve. I like this, not a hellova good beat, but very creative and it shows a lot of potential. I am eager for you to do something else with a little more harmony and perhaps some countermelody.

Might look into chord changes on the harmony, but then dubstep tends to ignore that (and sometimes successfully).

FlamingFedora responds:

Thank you for the constructive part of the review.

Yes indeed, my only favorited artist, so glad to see your return. Thank you for the new track it is amazing. Gorgeous really. True artistry, love it. You are very good at everything I enjoy in music. Great melodies, beat changeups, harmony intermixed with countermelody. Just awesome. Can't wait for another if it lives up to this.

I will say though, that that part in the middle, you could have lengthened it and stretched out those chord changes a little. It seems like something got missed there.

Quite enjoyed this, downloaded. Thanks!

Sacrafan responds:

Neato.

I think this would be great video game background if trimmed.

Just had to check it out after you told me not to.

I'm'a have to agree with lizard, also there was surprising little harmony. But I am a fan of this style, oldschool twosteppin. Generally good melody, and better than average at the redundancy issue. Might have considered some countermelody.

I am about me.
